UK Subscription Compliance

Built for UK subscription businesses that take compliance seriously

Evidencee was created when the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 made it clear that “we think we're compliant” is no longer good enough. You need to be able to prove it — and that requires infrastructure built specifically for the job.

Our story

Why we built Evidencee

When the DMCC Act passed in May 2024, it introduced the most significant change to UK subscription law in decades. Businesses have until the subscription rules take effect, now expected in January 2027, to implement a wide range of new obligations — and the CMA made clear that enforcement would be active from day one.

The problem wasn't that businesses didn't want to comply. Most did. The problem was that the tools they had — spreadsheets, manual processes, generic compliance software — weren't designed for what the DMCC asks of a subscription business: not just running the controls, but being able to show, with dated evidence, that you ran them.

Evidencee fills that gap. We connect directly to Shopify, Stripe, and GoCardless, score your controls, run the reminders, cancellation page and cooling-off queue we can run for you, and write every event we record to a tamper-evident evidence chain. So when a regulator asks for proof, you don't scramble — you export the bundle and send it the same day.

The question isn't whether you need to comply with the DMCC Act. You do. The question is whether you can prove you have.

What guides us

Our approach

Compliance by default

We build compliance into your workflow, not around it — so the compliant path is also the path of least resistance.

UK-law specific

Evidencee is built for the DMCC Act and CMA enforcement guidance — not adapted from a generic compliance tool. Every control is tied to the DMCC obligation it supports.

Operational, not theoretical

We built Evidencee for the people who run subscriptions day to day, not just the legal team. It handles the repetitive work and keeps the evidence ready for the day someone asks.

Evidence, not certification

Evidencee records what you did and when. It does not certify that you are compliant — that judgement stays with you and your own lawyer, as our Terms say.

Who Evidencee is for

Evidencee is purpose-built for UK subscription businesses of all sizes.
